Boxing Day, 2017

I admire,
in fact,
treasure
the one
snowflake
able
to find
my tongue.

One Fall Day

After watching
a three-hour
documentary
on George Harrison
I walk
with the butterflies,
one yellow,
the other
not quite white,
mellow shades
each has worn
on their wings
since I was a boy
when once,
and only once,
I touched them
and my fingers
came away covered
with the powder
which seemed
to give them flight,
what, not knowing,
I then had stolen
forever.

Undone

As winter
abducts us
rain & snow
do not let up,
each boot
a hostage:
one lace
tightly bound,
the other
attempting
to escape
in the slush.
